About Backalast

Backalast is PBT's range of garments designed and engineered for dancers. They are built on research and made to be worn in class, rehearsal and everyday training.

Backalast Jacket

A posture-correcting compression jacket made from four-way stretch compression fabric. Discreet mesh layers and elastic panels encourage correct positioning of the head, neck, shoulders and scapulae. It builds proprioception and body awareness, supports muscles and circulation, and helps you hold cleaner lines with less fatigue. Studies in the United States and Australia found it improves joint angle replication and trunk proprioception.

Backalast Turnout Tights

After more than 18 months of research and prototyping, these tights bring compression and targeted support into a sleek design. A smooth nylon-spandex blend with a dual-layer support system and a 3D-printed silicone pattern gives directional cues through the knees, glutes and outer legs. They help you find your turnout, align through the legs and recover after hard sessions, with four-way stretch that moves with you.

The Pro Pack and Mini Loop Bands

The Pro Pack covers your strength and mobility work. The ProBall gives true support for your workouts. The three Fusion Balls build balance, strength and coordination. The 3m latex-free resistance band (light or medium) is the length used for PBT wrapping exercises. The massage ball releases tension and builds foot articulation, ankle strength and demi-pointe range. The Mini Loop Bands are premium, hypoallergenic silicone in three resistances.

ProBall size: Small for heights 105 to 135 cm (3'5" to 4'5"), Medium for 136 to 165 cm (4'5" to 5'5"), Large for 165 cm and over (5'5"+). Diameter can vary by up to about 5 cm (2 in) from ball to ball. This is normal for PVC exercise balls.
